Position Overview
The RBC Convention Centre Winnipeg is seeking courteous, professional, and customer-focused individuals to join our Banquet Bartending team. Our Banquet Bartenders play a key role in delivering exceptional service to guests, ensuring every event is executed seamlessly and that each guest enjoys an outstanding experience.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities
- Set up and tear down bar stations, including stocking and replenishing all beverage products and supplies.
- Greet guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate any special requirements to the Beverage Supervisor.
- Prepare and serve beverages using standard recipes and portioning guidelines.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth event execution and exceptional guest service.
- Operate cash floats when required, including accurately processing transactions and reconciling balances at the end of events.
- Provide guests with information and directions regarding event services and facility amenities.
- Remove inventory and beverage equipment following events and return items to designated storage areas.
- Adhere to all sanitation, health and safety, and quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Available to work flexible shifts, including evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must possess a valid Manitoba Smart Choices certification.
- Previous bartending or beverage service experience in a fast-paced environment serving large crowds and various groups is preferred.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and efficient during busy service periods.
- Capable of meeting the physical demands of the position, including standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying trays of glassware, and safely pushing or pulling heavy carts.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills with a positive and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow direction.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Proof of work authorization or a valid study permit will be required upon hire.
