Ignite Construction Limited (ICL) is a Richmond-based, Canadian-owned renovation and construction company serving Richmond, Vancouver and Burnaby. Our work includes bathrooms, tile and shower surrounds, carpentry, decks, exterior repairs, framing, drywall, flooring and commercial/strata improvements. Licensed electrical, plumbing and HVAC work is completed by qualified subcontractors.
Position Summary
This is an entry-level renovation position for someone who wants to become a capable skilled worker. You will start with essential site responsibilities and earn more complex tasks through safe, accurate and dependable performance.
Responsibilities
- Protect floors, walls and occupied areas; maintain dust control.
- Assist with demolition, material handling, setup, cleanup and disposal sorting.
- Support carpentry, drywall, tile preparation, flooring, decks and exterior repairs.
- Measure, mark, cut and assemble under supervision as skills are confirmed.
- Maintain tools, batteries and consumables; follow daily task lists and progress-photo requirements.
Required
- Reliable attendance, punctuality and willingness to learn from correction.
- Some construction, maintenance, landscaping, warehouse or hands-on experience is helpful.
- Reliable transportation to changing sites; licence/vehicle strongly preferred and required where transit is impractical.
- Able to safely handle typical materials and stairs/ladders, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.
- Professional conduct in occupied homes and commercial spaces.
Preferred assets
- Basic hand/cordless tools and PPE.
- WHMIS, first aid, fall protection or silica awareness.
- Interest in carpentry, tile, bathrooms, drywall, flooring or exterior construction.
Paid assessment
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a paid, supervised 4-8 hour skills assessment. The assessment wage and hours will be confirmed in writing. ICL does not use unpaid productive tryouts.
