Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Dairy Farm Worker to join our team and contribute to the efficient operation of our dairy farm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining farm facilities, caring for livestock, and supporting daily farm activities. This role offers an opportunity to work in a hands-on environment, utilizing various tools and machinery to ensure the health and productivity of our dairy operations. Candidates should be comfortable with physical labor, heavy lifting, and operating farm equipment, while adhering to safety standards and farm protocols.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily care and feeding of dairy cattle, ensuring their health and well-being
- Operate farm machinery such as milking equipment, tractors, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform maintenance on farm infrastructure including fencing, barns, and irrigation systems
- Use hand tools and power tools for repairs, installations, and general upkeep of farm facilities
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution across fields and pastures
- Conduct routine inspections of livestock and facilities to identify issues requiring attention
- Support herd management activities including cleaning stalls, assisting with calving, and monitoring animal health
- Maintain accurate records related to animal care, equipment maintenance, and farm operations
- Assist in crop management activities such as planting, watering, or harvesting if applicable
Experience
- Prior experience with farm machinery operation and maintenance is highly desirable
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, irrigation techniques, horticulture practices, and general farm maintenance is preferred
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, heavy lifting techniques, and heavy equipment operation is beneficial
- Basic math skills for record keeping and measurements are necessary
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in outdoor conditions for extended periods
- Experience working on a dairy or livestock farm is a plus but not required; training will be provided for specific tasks
