Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Level 3 Early Childhood Educator with a Montessori background to join our team as a Lead Teacher. The ideal candidate will be warm, professional, and enthusiastic about working with children aged 18 months to 6 years.
Preference will be given to candidates with additional skills in French, music, dance, or yoga, as we value creativity and enrichment in our program.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a calm, prepared Montessori learning environment
- Implement Montessori principles through daily routines and activities
- Observe, guide, and support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Maintain accurate documentation and classroom records
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Child Care Licensing regulations
- Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture
Qualifications
- Alberta Level 3 Early Childhood Educator Certificate
- Montessori training or classroom experience
- Valid First Aid & CPR
- Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude, reliability, and flexibility
- Experience or interest in French, music, dance, or yoga is a strong asset
