Primitive Designs is looking for a motivated, customer-focused Sales Associate / General Laborer to join our team. This is a hands-on, fast-paced retail role in a unique destination store specializing in handcrafted goods, home décor, crystals, furniture, and global imports.
This position combines customer service, sales, and physical work, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety, staying active, and working in a creative retail environment.
You’ll play a key role in creating an engaging shopping experience while helping keep the store organized, stocked, and running smoothly. Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance
- Answer customer questions and offer product recommendations
- Drive sales by actively promoting products, specials, and in-store events
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system
- Maintain store cleanliness and organization, including restocking and display upkeep
- Assist with moving stock, unloading shipments, and handling incoming sea containers
- Stay informed about products, promotions, and company policies
- Meet or exceed personal and store sales goals
- Work with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Previous retail experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable with cash handling and basic math
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
- Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor conditions (heat, cold, etc.)
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to work weekends
