R&D Food Product Developer / Food Scientist – Food Manufacturing (Bakery and Desert Focus) | MILTON (100% on site) | 80-97K

- Interview process: 3 on-site interviews (including a PI Cognitive test + a technical assessment/demo in a lab)
Qualifications & Experience
- Must live within 40 minutes from Milton
- 5–10 years of Product Development and R&D experience in food manufacturing IS A MUST
- Strong experience in CPG or food production manufacturing environments is a MUST
- Bakery or baked goods experience (pastry, batters, fillings, etc.)
- Proven experience with plant trials and product scale-up is required
- Post-secondary education in Food Science, Culinary, or related field (international credentials accepted)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and reformulate baked and frozen food products for retail and foodservice
- Create and maintain formulations, specifications, SOPs, and product documentation
- Prepare product costing, nutrition facts, and ingredient declarations
- Lead and execute plant trials independently, ensuring successful scale-up to production
- Conduct lab/kitchen testing and troubleshoot formulation and processing issues
- Source and evaluate ingredients, packaging, and processing methods
- Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and certification requirements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, FSQA, Purchasing, Sales, and Marketing
- Monitor consumer trends and innovation opportunities to support product strategy

Working Environment

- Standard hours: Monday–Friday
- Flexibility required for plant trials (early starts or extended hours, with time adjusted accordingly)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: 80,000 – $97,000 (flexible for strong candidates)
- No bonus structure
