Job Overview
House of Mercy International Church is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Leader for the kids church to join our team. The Camp Leader will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children during our church services/events, and camp activities. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for working with children and a background in early childhood education or tutoring. The Camp Leader will be responsible for guiding campers through various Bible educational and recreational activities, ensuring their well-being, and fostering a positive camp experience.
Duties
- Work with House of Mercy International Church to develop and deliver camp activities.
- Provide Bible teaching program during church services especially on Sundays and events
- Prepare materials needed for camp activities as necessary.
- Deliver camp activities for children and youth .
- Support volunteers who participate in delivering camp activities.
- Ensure timely attendance to camp to avoid wait time for families and children.
- Ensure safety of all children in attendance through supervision.
- Complete necessary administrative record keeping as assigned.
- Assist with the coordination of special events – planning, coordination, development, implementation and evaluation of all events.
- Answer telephone and in-person callers promptly via office and assigned cell phone
- Provide information about House of Mercy Int’l Church to members of the public.
- Attend community meetings as approved by supervisor(s).
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings is preferred.
- Background in early childhood education or tutoring is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with children.
- First Aid/CPR certificate,
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by the organization.
- Must be between 15 and 30 years old, a Canadian citizen, permanent residence, or a protected person under IRCC with a valid social insurance number.
