You'll Be Responsible For:
Conduct regular field audits and inspections in accordance with project safety assurance plan requirements.
Ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) arising from incidents, observations, audits, and inspections are tracked and completed in a timely manner.
Conduct safety assurance reviews to verify that industry best practices are consistently implemented across applicable project activities.
Prepare required reports and provide data inputs for project reporting.
Collect and maintain records required for evaluating the effectiveness of safety programs.
Compile project-wide HSW KPIs and leading indicators and report findings to the safety director or designate to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure timely reporting and investigation of incidents.
Verify that corrective and preventive actions are effectively implemented and sustained.
Develop and deliver best-practice guides, training materials, presentations, and briefing packages tailored to the needs of specific project stakeholders.
Build and maintain positive working relationships through open communication, mutual respect, and a solution-oriented approach.
Actively seek stakeholder input, value diverse perspectives, and contribute to a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You’ll Need To Have:
Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
Professional designation or certification preferred (e.g., NCSO, CRSP, CHSC, or equivalent).
Minimum five (5) years of direct onsite construction safety management experience.
Experience working on railway, transit, or major infrastructure construction projects.
Experience in underground construction safety, particularly tunneling projects.
Experience conducting field safety audits and inspections.
Extensive knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation.
Experience auditing Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
Strong technical knowledge of safety programs, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Experience in safety training, incident investigations, and safety performance measurement.
Experience in injury management and incident investigation.
Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders, build consensus, and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High level of integrity, accountability, dependability, and professionalism, with a demonstrated commitment to fulfilling responsibilities and obligations.
Note: The estimated salary for this position is 130,000 - 180,000 CAD. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
