Office Assistant

The Richmond Women’s Resource Centre is a long-standing, vibrant non- profit registered charity and non-profit society, dedicated to supporting women Richmond for 50 years. POSITION SUMMARY:
The RWRC Office Assistant (OA) will be responsible for a variety of administrative and other office tasks providing support where needed. The OA will assist successful delivery and set up of programs, workshops, and series – including assisting with developing promotional materials; assisting with promoting events; organizing registration; attending events and workshops and gathering event feedback. The OA will provide support in keeping accurate records, including event check in lists, feedback forms, surveys, and others. The OA will ensure the office environment is welcoming to participants and will be a polite, professional and enthusiastic representative of the RWRC organization at all times.
Qualifications
- Post Secondary Education
- Excellent verbal and written English, second language an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Canva.
- Previous office administration experience / program administration experience
Responsibilities
- Able to assist, co-ordinate and contribute to all aspects of program workshops and events series including designing recruitment materials and posters, managing registration; helping with room set up and participant management, volunteer management, photo taking and gathering feedback.
- Motivated to support RWRC organizational growth and development and be an advocate for best outcomes for women in Richmond. Enthusiastic to learn.
- Able to maintain organized files, records, and documents in digital and physical format ensuring easy access and retrieval.
- Able to respectfully deal with RWRC participants, Facilitators, other organizations and RWRC Leadership. Maintains confidentiality of information received.
- Able to work independently and as a team player.
- Has strong organizational skills and able to prioritize workload and reliably meet deadlines and keep Supervisors informed of any issues.
- Able to prepare reports, presentations, and spreadsheets.
- Able to work a flexible Schedule. Most work will be during weekdays, Monday to Friday – however, there are occasional weekend and evening events. Most work will be at the Richmond Caring Place site; however, there may be occasional off-site events and work from home opportunities.
- Must be an enthusiastic representative and advocate for RWRC and women in Richmond.
- Ensures the physical RWRC office space and environment is always organized and welcoming.
- Other office duties as assigned.
Compensation:
This is a casual, contractor role, 6-month contract to start. Hours will be based on operational needs. Compensation commensurate with experience - $21-$24 range to start.
