Medical Office Assistant (MOA) – Family Practice

Abbeydale Medical Clinic is a busy, established, physician-led family practice in NE Calgary. We are looking for a friendly, reliable and highly capable Medical Office Assistant to join our growing team.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in providing excellent patient service, communicates well, works effectively as part of a team, and can remain organized and positive in a busy clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Greeting, checking in and assisting patients
- Answering phones and scheduling appointments
- Coordinating patient flow and rooming patients
- Managing physician schedules and Accuro Traffic Manager
- Processing referrals, faxes, forms and incoming documents
- Scanning and maintaining accurate EMR documentation
- Communicating with patients, physicians, pharmacies and other healthcare providers
- Collecting payments for uninsured services
- Assisting with billing and administrative tasks
- Supporting physicians and other MOAs with day-to-day clinic operations
- Other administrative and patient-care support duties as required

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous MOA or medical-clinic experience
- Accuro EMR experience strongly preferred
- Experience in a busy family practice or walk-in clinic
- Familiarity with Alberta Netcare
- Knowledge of Alberta physician billing, referrals and medical terminology is an asset
- MOA certification is an asset
Schedule
We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available.
Clinic hours include weekdays, some evenings until 7:00 PM, and weekends. Applicants with flexible availability, including some evening and weekend shifts, are preferred.
Schedules are provided in advance, and we aim to provide consistent hours while maintaining flexibility for clinic needs.
Compensation
$17–$22/hour, depending on experience, Accuro proficiency, demonstrated competency and responsibilities.
There may be opportunities for increased responsibility, senior/lead duties and wage progression for strong performers.
