Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fish Cutter to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have experience in retail, butchery, and food handling, with a focus on fish processing. This role involves preparing fish for sale or distribution by expertly cutting, filleting, and packaging seafood products while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality. The Fish Cutter plays a vital role in ensuring our customers receive fresh, high-quality seafood products in a clean and efficient environment.
Responsibilities
- Carefully clean, fillet, and cut fish according to specified standards and customer requirements
- Ensure all fish is prepared efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards
- Handle food products with proper hygiene practices in accordance with food safety regulations
- Package finished products securely for storage or sale, labeling accurately as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations and tools to meet sanitation standards
- Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and reporting stock levels
- Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and uphold customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Must have strong hands-on experience in fish cutting and processing
- Required skills in handling, filleting, and portioning salmon and halibut
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced processing environment
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices.
- Ability to operate Bandsaw machine safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precise cuts and high-quality products
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Excellent customer service skills are a plus for roles involving direct customer interaction.
- Prior experience in seafood processing is preferred
Pay: $20.20-$22.50 per hour
