Overview
We are seeking a professional, reliable and observant Security Guards for one of our warehouse clients in Calgary. The successful candidates will control access to the facility, monitor employee and visitor activity, conduct security screening, perform patrols and maintain accurate records using our internal reporting database. This position requires professionalism, sound judgment and strict adherence to Argus Securities policies.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Control employee, visitor, contractor and delivery-driver access to the facility.
- Verify identification and authorization before permitting entry.
- Maintain accurate visitor, contractor and delivery logs.
- Monitor employee entrances, exits and designated restricted areas.
- Conduct employee screening using walk-through and handheld metal-detection equipment.
- Conduct authorized bag, package and personal-property inspections in accordance with site procedures.
- Prevent the unauthorized removal of products, equipment and company property.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and report suspicious activity or security concerns.
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled interior and exterior patrols.
- Inspect doors, loading areas, emergency exits, fencing and other security-sensitive locations.
- Maintain a visible security presence throughout the warehouse.
- Respond to alarms, emergencies, disturbances and safety-related incidents.
- Immediately report theft, attempted theft, workplace violence, policy violations, hazards and suspicious behaviour.
- Complete detailed daily activity reports, incident reports and occurrence reports using Argus Security’s digital reporting system.
- Preserve evidence and cooperate with management, emergency services and law-enforcement personnel when required.
- Follow all client site procedures, emergency plans and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning the clients employees, customers, products and business operations.
- Perform other security-related duties assigned by Argus Security or authorized management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Alberta Security licence.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR
- Previous warehouse, logistics, loss-prevention or access-control experience is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to write clear, accurate and detailed reports.
- Comfortable using computers, tablets, metal detectors, radios and CCTV systems.
- Able to remain alert while standing, walking or working independently for extended periods.
- Available to work days and some weekends as scheduled.
- Prior experience in law enforcement, security, or related fields is highly desirable
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Good communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and accurately.
- Able to pass all required background and employment screening.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is based in an active warehouse environment and may involve prolonged standing and walking, repetitive patrols, indoor duties, and interaction with employees, visitors, contractors and delivery personnel.
