Our client is a well-established residential home builder based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, with a strong reputation for quality construction across both single-family and multi-family markets. As they continue to grow, our client is seeking an experienced and driven Manager of Sales & Marketing to join their Senior Management Team.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the full sales and marketing function, from building and mentoring a high-performing sales team to shaping product strategy, overseeing show homes, and driving brand presence across the Saskatoon market. This is a senior leadership role with real influence over the direction of the business.
What You’ll Do
- Sales LeadershipLead and manage the Sales & Marketing Department within the established operating budget, ensuring accountability and performance.
- Oversee the full sales process for multi-family and single-family new home projects, developing sales aids, strategies, and advertising packages.
- Hire, train, and develop a professional sales team aligned with company goals and known for expertise in new home construction.
- Review and approve all sales contracts, change requests, and pricing, signing on behalf of the organization.
- Collaborate with Operations, Design, Estimating, and Construction leadership to ensure product offerings meet customer needs while protecting company margins.
- Work alongside the CEO to determine inventory, product mix, and neighborhood development strategy for multi-family projects.
- Conduct ongoing market assessments to develop competitive intelligence and share insights with the team.
- Assist staff in client meetings and negotiations and resolve issues with a customer-first mindset.
- Monitor balance sheets, WIP Reports, and final budgets across projects; review and approve all department invoices.
- Contribute to business development opportunities and operational planning as part of the Senior Management Team.
- Manage performance of direct reports through mentorship, goal-setting, and regular performance reviews.
- Represent our client in the community and at industry events, actively raising the brand’s profile.
- MarketingDevelop and oversee marketing strategies spanning social media, print, radio, and television.
- Review and approve all marketing and media materials.
- Oversee the development and ongoing maintenance of the company website.
- Develop product offerings relevant to the company’s identified target markets.
- Plan and coordinate trade shows, grand openings, and marketing events.
- Coordinate media opportunities to raise the company’s profile, including publicity, awards, and project announcements.
- Provide sales and marketing presentations for show homes, inventory updates, and ongoing reporting.
- Show HomesDetermine location, layout, and staging for project show homes, coordinating all logistics with relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee all show home activities including set-up, tear-down, staging, scheduling, and signage.
What You Bring
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience in sales, marketing, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years in a senior sales role and 5 years in a management capacity, ideally within residential construction knowledge.
- Strong technical knowledge of the residential construction industry. You understand how homes are built and can speak credibly to customers and trade partners alike.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the presence to represent an organization at a senior level.
- Strong negotiation skills and a track record of closing deals and navigating complex client relationships.
- Exemplary customer service orientation. You lead by example.
- A self-motivated, results-driven attitude with excellent time management and organizational skills.
