We are currently seeking an experienced Production Support Specialist / Forklift Operator to assist in a fast-paced industrial production environment. This position involves handling high-value, fragile materials and requires a strong focus on safety, precision, and careful material handling. The ideal candidate will have several years of forklift experience and be confident operating in tight spaces while moving delicate and heavy products.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts in tight and confined production areas.
- Transport high-value, fragile industrial materials while preventing damage.
- Assist with unpacking and packing large porcelain cylinders and other materials weighing up to approximately 160lbs.
- Use proper team-lifting techniques and mechanical assistance when handling heavy materials.
- Secure loads using straps, slings, and appropriate rigging hardware.
- Assist with positioning and guiding secured components onto overhead hoists.
- Inspect products during unpacking, movement, and packing to identify damage or defects.
- Follow established material-handling, rigging, hoist, and workplace safety procedures.
- Communicate clearly with coworkers during forklift movements, spotting, lifting, and material transfers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of industrial forklift operating experience.
- Valid and current forklift certification.
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate a forklift in tight spaces.
- Previous experience handling fragile, unstable, oversized, or high-value loads.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy materials with mechanical assistance or team lifting.
- Basic knowledge of rigging practices, including straps, slings, and load securement.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to preventing product damage.
- Clear verbal communication skills in English.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working as part of a production team.
