Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Laborer to join our team and support various construction projects. This role involves assisting skilled tradespeople and performing a variety of manual tasks to ensure the successful completion of construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience with hand tools, carpentry, and blueprint reading is a plus but not required; training will be provided for specific skills such as schematics, restoration, and construction painting. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in the construction industry and opportunities for skill development across multiple trades including plumbing, welding, flooring installation, and tile laying.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup and cleanup of construction sites, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform tasks such as framing, caulking, and basic carpentry.
- Support tradespeople with tasks involving blueprint reading and schematics interpretation.
- Perform demolition or removal of old materials as needed for restoration projects.
- Assist with installation of flooring, tile laying, or other finishing work under supervision.
- Support plumbing, welding, or painting tasks as directed by supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior experience with hand tools, construction, carpentry, or related trades is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Ability to read basic blueprints or schematics is advantageous.
- Knowledge of caulking, restoration techniques, or construction painting is a plus.
- Familiarity with plumbing or welding processes is beneficial but not required.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards learning new skills on-site.
