Nursery Labourer
Parkside Landscaping & Contracting is seeking reliable Nursery Labourers to support the establishment and operation of our nursery and horticultural business in Belleville, Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Plant, transplant and maintain nursery trees and shrubs
- Prepare planting beds and growing areas
- Mix and apply soil amendments and fertilizers
- Water, weed and prune nursery stock
- Monitor plant health and report signs of insects or disease
- Dig, wrap and prepare nursery stock for sale
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Assist with general nursery and agricultural duties
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
Requirements
- No degree, certificate or diploma required
- 1 to less than 2 years of nursery, landscaping, agricultural or related outdoor work experience
- Physically capable of performing repetitive manual labour
- Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
- Reliable, dependable and able to work as part of a team
- Steel-toed safety boots and work gloves required
