We are seeking a Youth Worker Staff members to provide care and supervision to children and youth in a recreational setting at the Central Labrador YMCA (CLY) in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. The role involves creating, leading and supporting in a safe and inclusive environment. The Youth Worker is responsible for planning and participating in engaging educational, social and recreational activities in the CLY Youth Centre and in other youth programming at the YMCA. The successful candidate will also complete basic reporting, research, prepare proposals for funding and contribute to a positive experience for all participants.

Post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Child and Youth Care or related field

Previous experience in a Child and Youth Worker Role

Experience working in a recreational setting considered an asset

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience working in a similar community-based setting

Experience supervising teams and /or program delivery

Ability to work flexible shifts that include days, evenings and weekends

Current Emergency First Aid and CPR

Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sectors Checks are reviewed on an individual basis
