Job Summary
Fluxwerx Illumination Inc. is a leading innovator in an industry experiencing unprecedented growth. From our local facility in Port Kells, Surrey, we design, manufacture, and market architectural lighting products. This role supports the Metal Fabrication Team.
We are looking for an energetic and team-oriented Assembler/General Labourer to join our growing team. This is a full-time Monday to Thursday nightshift position (3:45pm – 2:15am). Please be sure to have access to reliable transportation during the shift times. Public transportation may not be operating at the end of the shift.
Responsibilities
- As an Assemlber, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Assemble lighting housings and related components according to drawings, work instructions, and quality standards
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic shop equipment (drills, riveters, grinders, etc.)
- Assist with sheet metal fabrication processes such as Rolling, deburring and shake out.
- Conduct visual inspections to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all workplace safety policies and procedures
- Assist other departments and perform general labor duties as needed
- Other duties, as required by your Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
- Perform repetitive tasks involving hands and arms
- Comfortable working in a shop/industrial environment (noise, dust, etc.)
DEMONSTRATED SKILLS:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse workforce
- Excellent attention to detail, multi-tasking, and time management
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently as well as on a team
- Ability to problem solve, work in high pressure environment, and meet tight deadlines
