Overview
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Manual Machinist or a dedicated 2 or3-year Apprentice Machinist to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating and maintaining precision machining equipment, and milling machines to produce high-quality components. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, particularly with Agriculture parts and equipment and the ability to interpret complex blueprints. Candidates should be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to continuous improvement within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Must be self-motivated and work independently as well as in a group setting. Responsibilities
- Operate manual lathes and milling machines, ensuring precise fabrication of parts according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings.
- Set up and calibrate machinery using hand tools, calipers, and power tools to achieve tight tolerances.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on machining equipment to maintain optimal performance.
- Use measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and quality standards.
- Follow safety protocols including proper use of welding equipment, forklift operation, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Assist in assembly processes when required, ensuring components meet quality standards before final inspection.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to all safety regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Journeyman manual machinist or a second or 3-year apprenticeship in machining.
- Strong mechanical and agriculture knowledge with familiarity in manufacturing processes an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and welding equipment.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations.
- Experience with milling machines, and manual machining techniques.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles for efficient workflow.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely when required.

Pay: $28.00-$38.00 per hour
