Job Summary
We are seeking a Bilingual Cash Application Specialist to join our client's (Pharmaceutical Industry) dynamic financial team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately applying customer payments, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the integrity of financial data across multiple platforms. Your bilingual proficiency will enable effective communication with diverse clients and internal teams, facilitating smooth transaction processing and fostering strong relationships. Hybrid role (Location Mississauga) - 2/3 days work from home.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4.30 pm. Summer Short Fridays.
Salary: 50K - 55K base (Total compensation, incl. bonus, up to 60K)

Responsibilities
- Process and apply incoming payments from customers efficiently and accurately using accounting software.
- Reconcile accounts receivable ledgers by verifying payment details and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain detailed records of transactions, ensuring data entry is precise and up-to-date.
- Review remittance details and match payments to open invoices with a high degree of accuracy
- Communicate with clients in both languages to clarify payment issues, negotiate resolution strategies, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Support month-end closing activities by preparing reports and assisting with account analysis.
- Collaborate with accounts payable teams to ensure consistency across financial records.
- Utilize analysis skills to identify trends or issues in cash flow, recommending improvements as necessary.
- Assist with account reconciliation processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Handle inquiries related to payment status, billing discrepancies, or account information via phone or email with professional etiquette.
- Support bookkeeping activities and maintain accurate documentation for audit purposes.
Skills
- Completed Post-Secondary Education
- 2-4 years of experience as a Bilingual Cash Application Specialist or relevant experience
- Ideally experience within Pharmaceutical or related industry
- Strong communication skills in both English and French
- Proficiency in accounting software & ERP systems
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.
- Experience with account reconciliation, data entry, and bookkeeping practices.
- Excellent negotiation skills combined with effective phone etiquette for client interactions.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and identify discrepancies.
- Familiarity with financial services terminology and procedures.
- Strong math skills to support accurate calculations and financial assessments.
- Ability to work effectively in a bilingual environment, demonstrating fluency in both languages spoken.
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks.
- Customer service orientation with a professional approach to problem-solving.
