We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service and maintaining a fleet of well-maintained heavy-duty trucks. We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Truck and Apprentice Mechanic to join our Calgary team.
Job Description:
As a Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of heavy-duty trucks to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting routine maintenance inspections on heavy-duty trucks.
- Perform CVIP inspections, engine diagnostics, suspension work, and more.
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, issues and performing necessary repairs.
- Troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other components.
- Conducting thorough inspections to identify potential problems and prevent breakdowns.
- Utilizing diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately diagnose issues and make necessary repairs.
- Following safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Keemaintenance, and inventory of parts.
- Collaborating with other team members to coping accurate records of repairs, complete tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Providing guidance and training to mechanics as needed.
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician
- Minimum 5+ years of experience working on transport trucks/trailers
- Also hiring Apprentice mechanics with 2+ years of experience
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and other heavy-duty truck components.
- Experience of engines Rebuilt for DD-15 and Volvo D-13 is an asset
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends as needed.
