We are Columbia Plastics, a well-established privately-held custom injection molding manufacturing company based in Surrey BC. We make plastics that shape people’s lives! We are seeking an experienced Tool and Die Maker to join our small Tool-Room team. This role is primarily responsible for the modification, maintaining, repair and the building of injection mold tools, along with the manufacture of custom auxiliary equipment, jigs and fixtures to aid the production work cell processes and inspection requirements.
You will also work along side our molding technicians to trouble shoot production tools and suggest upgrades / potential modifications to allow them to run in a stable molding process to meet the customers specifications.
The position will work within the ISO quality system (ISO 9000 and ISO 13485). The position is Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. A complete orientation and onboarding program will be provided to the successful candidate.
Ideally, You’re Someone Who Brings:
· 10+ years of experience in a Tool – Making / manufacturing environment, with good mechanical aptitude & understanding engineering drawings is second nature to you.
· Proficient in programming and machining utilizing Master-Cam software is a MUST.
· Experience in the operation of EDM equipment is a MUST.
· Clear written and verbal communication that ensures both safety and accuracy in all aspects of job performance.
· Natural organization skills and the ability to work productively with minimal supervision, respecting deadlines and responding appropriately when urgency is needed.
· The ability and willingness to learn procedures for upholding the company’s quality and safety standards.
· A vehicle for transportation to and from work (free parking is provided).
What You’ll Be Doing Everyday:
- Complete customer driven modifications to existing molds.
- Manufacture new tooling.
- Manufacture fixtures and gauges for quality control and product assembly.
- Support the operations group to ensure continuity of production.
- Mold maintenance & cleaning
· You will communicate with all levels of the organization:
· Work with molding technicians to troubleshoot injection- molding process to meet production needs.

Pay: $30.00-$45.00 per hour
