Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Line Striping & Surface Maintenance Labourer to join our construction and maintenance team. This role involves performing surface preparation, line striping, and various surface maintenance tasks on roads, parking lots, and other paved surfaces. The ideal candidate will have experience using cleaning and paint equipment and a strong understanding of construction site safety protocols. Duties
- Prepare surfaces for striping and maintenance by cleaning, sweeping, and applying surface treatments as needed
- Conduct line striping using specialized equipment to ensure clear and durable markings
- Assist with paving operations and surface repairs to maintain high-quality standards
- Perform utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or surface work
- Support construction activities related to surface maintenance projects, ensuring adherence to safety regulations
- Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections and basic troubleshooting
- Follow project plans and specifications to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
Skills
- Proven experience with equipment operation such as backpack blowers, pressure washing machine, striping machines, others.
- Knowledge of painting techniques and construction site procedures is an asset
- Familiarity with utility locating methods and safety protocols on construction sites
- Strong understanding of construction site safety standards and practices
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions precisely
- Physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions; ability to lift heavy materials when necessary
- Prior experience in construction or surface maintenance is highly desirable
