In line with Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) direction, the Department of National Defence has adopted a common hybrid work model where employees work at their designated worksite at least 3 days each week, or 60% of their regular schedule. Some positions may require full-time on-site presence.

The purpose of this process is to staff a permanent position of Engineer / Project management supervisor at each location: Île de Montréal (Quebec), Saint-Jean (Quebec), Valcartier (Quebec), and Bagotville (Quebec) in one of the 3 following fields : mechanical engineering, civil engineering and electrical engineering,
A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established through this process and could be used to fill other identical positions within the Department of National Defence.

- Must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s licence issued by the Province of Quebec or an equivalent licence from another Canadian province or territory;
- Must be willing and able to provide a satisfactory driving record from the SAAQ or the equivalent provincial or territorial authority in Canada;
- Must be willing and able to work at heights and in confined spaces (e.g., confined spaces);
- Strict adherence to the Department of National Defence and Canadian Forces Code of Values and Ethics, Values and Ethics Code for the Public Sector, Directive on Conflict of Interest, and Defence Administrative Orders and Directives (DAOD) 7021-1, Conflict of Interest.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Must be willing and able to work overtime, when required, sometimes on short notice;
- Must be willing and able to respond to emergencies outside normal working hours;
- Must be willing and able to travel within the geographic area of the Real Property Operations Unit (Québec);
- Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a DND 404 driver’s permit (Department of National Defence).

EDUCATION:
A degree from a recognized university in mechanical engineering, civil engineering (structural), electrical engineering, or in another engineering discipline relevant to the duties of the position, or in applied science with a specialization in engineering.

EXPERIENCES :
For EN-ENG-03 :
Extensive and diversified experience in at least one of the following areas:
- EX1: Managing construction projects, including all phases of project delivery;
- EX2: Preparing plans and specifications, performing engineering calculations, or providing technical expertise in a construction-related discipline.
For EN-ENG-04 :
Extensive and diversified experience in at least three of the following areas:
- EX1: Experience in management of construction projects covering all phases of project delivery;
- EX2: Experience in development of plans and specifications, performing calculations, or acting as a technical expert in a construction-related field;
- EX3: Experience in human resources management, managing a virtual team without direct subordinates, or leading a multidisciplinary project team;
- EX4: Experience in financial management of projects;
- EX5: Experience in providing advice and recommendations to senior management on complex issues involving multiple stakeholders
