Nextgen Innovations Inc. is a growing custom metal fabrication company specializing in precision sheet metal fabrication, CNC laser cutting, CNC bending, and TIG/MIG welding. We work with a variety of industrial customers, including food processing and manufacturing plants.
We are looking for an Experienced TIG Welder/Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate is confident working with stainless steel and aluminum and takes pride in producing clean, high-quality welds.
Responsibilities
- TIG weld stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel components
- Fabricate and assemble custom sheet metal and industrial equipment
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and measurements
- Perform precision welding with a strong focus on appearance and quality
- Weld food-processing and sanitary equipment
- Perform on-site welding and service work at customer facilities, including food plants
- Assist with installation, modification, repair, and maintenance of fabricated equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all company safety procedures and customer-site safety requirements
- Perform grinding, finishing, polishing, and cleaning of welded components when required
Requirements
- 3+ years of TIG welding experience preferred
- Strong TIG welding skills, particularly on stainless steel
- Experience with aluminum welding is an asset
- Ability to read and understand fabrication/shop drawings
- Good knowledge of welding techniques, fit-up, measurements, and fabrication
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced custom fabrication environment
- Valid driver's license is an asset due to occasional on-site work
Food Industry Experience – Major Asset
Experience working with food-processing or food-manufacturing equipment is highly desirable.
Experience with the following will be considered a strong asset:
- Sanitary stainless-steel fabrication
- Food plant equipment
- Hygienic/sanitary welding
- TIG welding and finishing of stainless steel
- Food plant installations and modifications
- Cleaning and preparing equipment for food-plant environments
- Working safely within active food-processing facilities
