The Opportunity
Ancora Waterfront Dining and Patio (False Creek location), is currently looking for Line Cooks. The ideal candidate will excel as a team player and will work well under pressure in a dynamic and fast paced environment. He or she will have the opportunity to learn from a Top Chef and work with exceptional seasonal products. You will offer minimum 2 years’ experience as a Line Cook.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare dishes and create recipes
- Assist in running and managing kitchen operations
- Assist in hiring, training and supervising cooks and other kitchen staff
- Assist in planning menus
- Assist in preparing schedules for kitchen staff
- Ensure kitchen is clean, well-supplied and organized
- Ensure the preparation station and the kitchen are set up and stocked
· Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces.
· Report to the Head Chef and follow instructions accordingly.
· Ensure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
· Clean prep areas and take care of leftovers.
· Stock inventory and supplies.
· Cook menu items with the support of the kitchen staff.
What You Have
· 2+ years of experience in the same or a similar role.
· Enthusiastic and committed to guest satisfaction.
· Honest, trustworthy and reliable.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Availability to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· Able to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure.
· Must be legally authorized to work in Canada to be considered.
