At Artisan Woodworks & Design Studios (AWDS), we design and manufacture bespoke cabinetry for discerning homeowners, designers, and custom builders across Ontario.
Our work is rooted in craftsmanship, precision, and a client experience that reflects the level of product we deliver. We specialize in English framed (inset) cabinetry and furniture-style millwork, with a focus on thoughtful design and refined detailing.
We are growing and are looking to bring on a Senior Designer & Project Manager to take ownership of projects from initial consultation through to final installation.
This role is suited for someone who is equally comfortable leading design conversations, managing clients, and ensuring projects are executed to a high standard.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for guiding clients through the full lifecycle of their project—from initial consultation and concept development to coordinating production and overseeing installation.
This is a client-facing role that requires both design sensibility and project ownership, with an expectation to contribute to closing projects and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initial client consultations and discovery meetings
- Develop layouts, concepts, and design presentations
- Prepare estimates and guide clients through budgeting decisions
- Manage client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate with internal production and installation teams
- Oversee project timelines, approvals, and deliverables
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with AWDS standards
- Conduct site visits as required
- Contribute to closing projects and securing deposits
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in kitchen design, millwork, or residential interiors
- Strong understanding of cabinetry construction and materials
- Familiarity with inset / framed cabinetry and furniture-style detailing is a strong asset
- Experience with Mozaik or similar cabinet design/manufacturing software is an asset
- Proficient in SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar design software
- Confident in client-facing and presentation settings
- Highly organized with strong project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability
