Bayshore Vegetable Shippers Ltd. is seeking multiple experienced Shipper/Receivers to join our team in Burlington.
General Overview:
The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for safely and accurately loading and unloading incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying products and quantities, and storing received products according to designated locations and first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory practices.
Between deliveries, the Shipper/Receiver organizes coolers, rotates inventory, supports production and repacking activities, and completes cleaning and general warehouse duties. Maintaining food safety, product quality, inventory accuracy, and workplace health and safety is essential to this position.
This role offers a competitive wage starting at $20.00/hr., plus benefits including health insurance and dental, and 2 weeks of paid vacation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Verify products and quantities against load sheets, invoices, and pallet tags.
- Ensure shipments meet customer requirements, including pack dates, pallet types, and load-building instructions.
- Secure loads for safe transportation.
- Separate mixed pallets and move products to designated cooler locations.
- Rotate and organize inventory according to FIFO practices.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely.
- Support production and repacking activities as required.
- Clean and maintain coolers, trailers, equipment, and warehouse areas.
- Complete shipping, receiving, inventory, and cleaning records.
- Follow all food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and health and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- Previous warehouse, shipping and receiving, or produce experience is preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material-handling equipment is an asset.
- Ability to accurately review shipping and receiving documents.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to perform physical work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in warehouse, cooler, loading-dock, and outdoor yard environments.
- Employees must be comfortable working in refrigerated areas and around forklifts and moving vehicles.
- Regular lifting, carrying, bending, standing, and walking are required.
