Job Summary
Nickel Properties offers 24/7 transitional shelter dedicated to supporting both youth & adults, offering a safe space and resources to empower clients to rebuild their lives. We focus on fostering independence and stability through trauma-informed services and community partnerships. We are committed to ensuring safety, compassion, and impactful support for all residents. The Shelter Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shelter, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents. This role involves managing staff, coordinating services, and developing programs that promote the well-being of individuals in the shelter. The Shelter Manager will work closely with community partners and stakeholders to enhance resources and support systems available to residents.
Duties
- Supervise staff and provide training and support to ensure effective service delivery.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
- Coordinate intake processes for new intakes, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
- Facilitate access to essential services such as food, healthcare, counseling, and employment assistance.
- Maintain accurate records of resident information, program participation, and incident reports.
- Conduct regular assessments of shelter operations and resident needs to identify areas for improvement.
- Foster a positive community atmosphere by organizing events and activities that promote resident engagement.
- Collaborate with local agencies and organizations to enhance service offerings and community outreach.
Experience
- Previous experience in social services, shelter management, or related fields is required.
- Education in Youth & Addictions, Psychology, Social Work, or a relevant field is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on building relationships with residents and community partners.
- Knowledge of resources available for individuals experiencing homelessness or crisis situations is beneficial.
- Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and effectively while maintaining confidentiality.
- Proficient in basic computer applications for record keeping and reporting purposes.

Compensation for this position is dependent on education and experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $52,000.00-$62,000.00 per year
