Part-Time / Casual | Evenings & Weekends | Vernon, BC
Starting at $27–$29/hour
Team Gillian is a private, home-based support team working with a young adult woman who is non-verbal, highly relational, and deeply connected to her family, community, and service dog.
This role is ideal for someone who is emotionally steady, grounded under pressure, and able to think clearly in the presence of daily seizure activity. Gillian experiences frequent seizures that are not typically life-threatening, but they do require calm observation, clear thinking, and comfort following established protocols. Training and support are provided.
This role is not a fit for someone who becomes easily panicked, overwhelmed, or dysregulated by medical events.

Role Overview:
- One-to-one support for daily living and community participation
- Support during seizures using established protocols
- Assistance with mobility, adaptive equipment, and personal care
- Participation in outdoor and recreational activities Communication and documentation using digital tools
Requirements:
- Comfortable with animals (service dog and cats)
- Able to swim and participate in water activities
- Class 5 driver’s license and comfortable driving
- Weekend availability Fridays Saturdays Sundays (opportunities to pick up shift during the week to fill in for holidays and illness)
- HCA certification preferred (or willingness to train)
