Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Asbestos Abatement Worker to join our environmental safety team. This role involves safely removing and managing asbestos-containing materials in compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction, restoration, or related fields, with a focus on hazardous material handling. This position offers an opportunity to work on important projects that protect public health and the environment.
Duties
- Safely remove asbestos materials from buildings and infrastructure following strict safety protocols
- Prepare work sites by setting up containment barriers and protective equipment
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized cleaning equipment to perform abatement tasks
- Conduct thorough cleaning of work areas to prevent asbestos fiber dispersal
- Assist with demolition and restoration activities as needed during abatement projects
- Properly dispose of asbestos waste in accordance with environmental regulations
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials handled
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
Requirements
- Prior experience in cleaning, construction, or restoration is preferred
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and their safe operation
- Ability to work with hazardous materials in a safe and compliant manner
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Certification or training in asbestos awareness is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Must pass background checks and adhere to safety regulations at all times

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
