Bloom Culture is a Calgary design studio rooted in the garden, creating beautiful spaces through florals, plants, gardens, and seasonal experiences.
We're looking for a Casual Floral Workshop Facilitator (Independent Contractor) to join our roster of facilitators and lead engaging, hands-on floral workshops in our studio and at occasional off-site events.
Our workshops are designed to be relaxed, welcoming, and inspiring. We're looking for someone who enjoys connecting with people and creating an experience guests will remember as much as the projects they make.
Position Details
This is a casual, as-needed independent contractor position. Workshops are scheduled based on seasonal demand and bookings, with our busiest season typically running from September through December. While opportunities are available throughout the year, facilitators can expect the greatest demand during the fall and holiday season.
Evening and weekend availability is required.
Compensation: $20–25/hour, based on experience.
What You'll Do
- Lead floral workshops including bouquets, centrepieces, wreaths, and other seasonal designs
- Guide participants step by step in a warm, approachable, and engaging way
- Encourage creativity while helping guests build confidence with floral design
- Prepare flowers, tools, and materials before each workshop
- Manage workshop flow, setup, cleanup, and reset
- Represent the Bloom Culture brand with professionalism and enthusiasm
What We're Looking For
- Previous floral design experience
- A natural ability to engage, encourage, and connect with groups
- Comfortable teaching beginners in a relaxed, welcoming environment
- Friendly, confident, and organized
- Strong eye for colour, texture, and composition
- Comfortable speaking to groups and adapting to different skill levels
- Able to lift buckets of flowers and work on your feet
- Evening and weekend availability
- Reliable transportation for occasional off-site workshops
