Job Summary
A new cafe/grill in downtown Toronto is seeking a highly capable and experienced Line cook to join our opening team.
We are looking for someone with strong hands-on cooking ability, excellent kitchen discipline, and pride in producing high-quality food in a fast-paced environment.
This role is ideal for a cook who understands both speed and presentation, can work independently, and brings an elevated approach to everyday cafe and grill food.
Duties
- Prepare lunch and beyond menu items to a high standard
- Handle food safely and maintain proper hygiene practices during meal preparation and service
- Execute dishes with consistency, strong presentation and attention to detail
- Assist with food handling, storage, and inventory management to minimize waste
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas in compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal delivery and uphold quality standards
- Follow all food safety protocols and sanitation procedures at all times
- Support menu improvements and efficient kitchen operations
- Step into FOH when needed
- Monitor product quality, freshness and portion control
Qualifications
- Strong previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments preferred
- Confident with breakfast cooking, grill work, sandwiches, hot line, and multitasking
- Elevated cooking style with pride in quality, presentation and clean execution
- Knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and meal preparation techniques
- Strong understanding of the food industry and customer service principles
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong sense of urgency, reliability and punctuality
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required
- Passion for cooking, serving others, and delivering exceptional dining experiences
- Must possess a Food Handler Certificate or willing to submit one

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
