Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Greenhouse Labourer to support the daily operations of our horticultural facility. The ideal candidate will assist with plant care, maintenance, and greenhouse management, ensuring optimal growing conditions and healthy plant development. Duties
- Assist with irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and equipment functionality
- Perform planting, transplanting, pruning, and harvesting of various plants and crops
- Maintain greenhouse cleanliness and organization to promote healthy growth conditions
- Use hand tools for trimming, staking, and other plant support tasks
- Conduct basic measurements and calculations for plant spacing, watering, and nutrient application
- Support mechanical tasks related to greenhouse equipment maintenance and repair
- Assist with heavy lifting of soil bags, pots, plants, or other materials as needed
- Monitor plant health for pests or diseases and report issues promptly
- Support gardening activities such as soil preparation, fertilization, and mulching
Experience
- Prior experience in horticulture, gardening, or greenhouse work is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and basic mechanical skills are advantageous
- Familiarity with hand tools and gardening equipment is beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to plant care
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for sustainable gardening practices
