We are seeking a caregiver to help take care of a female teenager with disabilities. The ideal candidate is a natural caregiver with a background in healthcare, childcare or education, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This position requires driving the child to/from school in a provided vehicle, as well as assistance with daily care activities and companionship. Running of errands and house cleaning are optional and increase the position to 8hr/day. Due to the personal nature of the job, we're looking for individuals who can make a long-term commitment and are empathetic and caring. Paid training will be required and will be scheduled during the month of August. The hours are 7:30-4 M-F with occasional nights and weekends. There is an option for paid and unpaid holidays over Christmas and summer (July & August).
Requirements:
Ability to lift/transfer 100lbs.
Driver's license with clean abstract.
Clean criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
First aide (preferred).
Must be comfortable working in a pet friendly home (1 dog).
Candidates must be available for part-time training throughout August and a full-time start on September 1.
