We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dishwasher/Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential in supporting the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, hospitality, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety. Previous restaurant or hotel experience is a plus, but we welcome motivated individuals eager to learn and grow within the hospitality industry.
Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as prepping salads
- Support the kitchen team in meal preparation and food handling to ensure timely service.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas to promote a safe and hygienic environment.
- Follow all food safety protocols and proper sanitation procedures in accordance with health regulations.
- Help with waste disposal, recycling, and maintaining proper storage of food items.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure efficient workflow during busy service periods.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential.
- Basic knowledge of cooking, food handling, and safety practices within the food industry.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting or moving heavy items safely.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Willingness to follow instructions carefully and adhere to health and safety guidelines.
