Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Before and After school Staff to join our team at Bradford Progress Child Care Centres. In this role, you will play a vital part in the development and well-being of children, ensuring they receive the care and attention they need to flourish. Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age to apply. OCT, Child and Youth Workers and those with a recreation and leisure diploma are encouraged to apply. Candidates looking to gain experience working with children as well as students attending College and University with flexible schedules are also encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children in a safe and caring environment.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities based on the children's interest that promote learning and development.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the environment.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a supportive community for children.
- Maintain accurate records of children's activities .
Requirements
- Previous experience in childcare or a related field is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- First Aid and CPR certification required.
- Ideally you live in the community where we offer our programs or withing a short travel distance.

Are you an individual that enjoys working with children? As a large, community-centred, non-profit organization with sites in South Simcoe (including Bradford, Beeton and Tottenham), we are always looking for dedicated and passionate individuals to join our dynamic team. We are hiring Full time and Part time candidates that can work a split shift in School age programs this fall. The hours for a split shift are approximately 630am-9am and 3pm-6pm daily. You will work a minimum of 27.5 hours per week. We also have flexible hours for students or candidates interested in only working 6:30am-9am or 3pm-6pm based on school schedules. If working a triple split (Before and After school program) and covering lunches in a child care centre mid day you will work 37.5-40 hours per week. Triple split employees qualify for our benefit package that has 100 % coverage and is employer paid with the exception of LTD.
The entry level for an assistant teacher is $20.10 + a daily bonus of up to $22 per day worked when you fully complete a scheduled shift. Candidates registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators will receive up to $28 per hour + a daily bonus day of up to $22 per day worked when you fully complete a scheduled shift.
We are committed to providing an emergent curriculum based on the Ministry of Education’s policies and pedagogy, How Does Learning Happen? which is based on the four foundations: belonging, well-being, engagement and expression. Our before-and-after school programs also follow the Ministry of Education’s Extended Day program guidelines.
All candidates will require a current vulnerable screening(completed in the last 6 months), First aid and infant/child CPR. Up to date immunization is required . New grads , College or university students or high school students(18 years and over) are encouraged to apply. We offer flexible scheduling.
