Truck Driver & Yard Maintenance Technician
Position Summary
Advantage Farm Equipment is seeking a reliable, safety-conscious Truck Driver & Yard Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the safe transportation of agricultural and light industrial equipment, machinery, and parts between our locations, customers, suppliers, and manufacturers while also assisting with the upkeep of our dealership property.
The successful candidate enjoys working both on the road and outdoors, takes pride in maintaining a professional appearance of our facilities, and understands the importance of exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation & Delivery
- Safely transport agricultural equipment, lawn and garden equipment, and light industrial equipment using flatbed and gooseneck trailers.
- Deliver equipment and parts to customers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Pick up equipment, parts, and supplies from vendors, manufacturers, and other dealership locations.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment in accordance with all applicable safety regulations.
- Complete required transportation documentation, inspection reports, and delivery paperwork accurately.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any maintenance concerns promptly.
- Ensure company vehicles and trailers are clean, maintained, and in safe operating condition.
Yard & Facility Maintenance
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe dealership yard.
- Assist with equipment movement, staging, and display.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as required.
- Perform general grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, snow removal, litter cleanup, and seasonal property maintenance.
- Assist with basic building maintenance and minor repairs.
- Support shop personnel with moving equipment and materials throughout the facility.
- Help maintain inventory storage areas and outdoor equipment displays.
General Responsibilities
- Represent the dealership professionally while interacting with customers and suppliers.
- Follow all company safety policies and Ministry of Transportation regulations.
- Work cooperatively with all departments to support dealership operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet customer and business needs.
Qualifications
Required
- Valid Class A driver's licence (minimum).
- Clean driver's abstract.
- Experience operating flatbed and/or gooseneck trailers.
- Ability to safely load, secure, and transport heavy equipment.
- Excellent driving record and commitment to safety.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Preferred
- Experience transporting agricultural equipment.
- Knowledge of agricultural, lawn and garden, or light industrial equipment.
- Forklift experience or certification.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position.
- Regular schedule: Monday to Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as required
- Overtime available based on customer demand and business requirements.
- Work is performed both outdoors and indoors in all weather conditions.
- Frequent driving, standing, walking, lifting, bending, climbing, and equipment operation.

Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Wage: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour, based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated ability.
