Varimetal Solutions Inc. is a growing custom metal fabrication company based in North York. We work on custom steel, stainless steel, and aluminum projects throughout the GTA, including railings, stairs, platforms, brackets, structural steel, and miscellaneous metal fabrication.
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and motivated Fabricator Helper / Junior Welder to join our team full-time.
This is not a production welding position. Every project is different, and the work may include cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, assembly, welding, material handling, shop cleanup, and occasional site installation.
We are willing to train the right person. Experience is helpful, but attitude, reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to follow instructions are very important.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with custom metal fabrication and assembly
- Cut, drill, grind, fit, clean, and prepare metal components
- Assist with MIG welding and tack welding when required
- Measure materials accurately using a tape measure
- Follow instructions, shop drawings, and marked layouts
- Help with loading, unloading, and organizing materials
- Assist with occasional site installation work throughout the GTA
- Keep the shop clean, safe, and organized
- Work as part of a small team and support daily shop operations
Qualifications:
- Welding or metal fabrication experience is an asset, but not required for the right person
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Basic experience with hand tools, grinders, drills, saws, or fabrication equipment is helpful
- Willing to do physical work, including lifting, grinding, cleaning, and material handling
- Reliable, punctual, responsible, and willing to learn
- Able to follow instructions carefully and ask questions when unsure
- Basic English communication skills
- Valid driver’s license is an asset
Additional Assets:
- MIG welding experience
- Metal fabrication or construction experience
- Forklift experience
- Installation experience
- CWB certification or welding training

We are looking for someone who is hardworking, reliable, willing to learn, and willing to help with all parts of the fabrication process.
This position is a good opportunity for someone who wants to grow in the metal fabrication trade and learn custom fabrication work in a small shop environment.
The right candidate may have opportunities to take on more responsibility as the company grows.
A short paid practical test may be required to confirm basic measuring, tool use, and fabrication ability.
