Project Coordinator – Métis Cultural and Educational Programming
Gabriel Dumont Local #11 is an affiliate of the Métis Nation – Saskatchewan. We are a volunteer organization serving a membership of approximately 350 Métis in the city of Saskatoon and the immediate surrounding area. We provide Métis cultural and educational programming to our members and the general public.
As an employee of Gabriel Dumont Local #11, the Project Coordinator will positively promote and create an environment that demonstrates our mission and mandate. They will work collaboratively with the Local Council and staff in hosting various cultural and educational opportunities. The Project Coordinator will provide event coordination and administrative support to the Gabriel Dumont Local #11 Program Manager and Executive, and will be responsible for planning, coordinating, communicating, and executing events as directed. The Project Coordinator will report directly to the Program Manager.
Duties:
- Implement and report on cultural and educational events in line with approved work plans and budgets; seek Program Manager approval for any deviations.
- Attend and contribute to monthly programming committee meetings, providing written and verbal activity updates.
- Support the development of grant proposals and reports in collaboration with the Program Manager and programming committee.
- Maintain organized records, including program participation data, inventory of Michif resources, and Local files and documents.
- Manage Local social media and website related to programming and assist with other duties as assigned by the Council.
- Skills and experience:
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Creative, proactive, and innovative, with a self-starter mindset and ability to multitask.
- Experienced in budgeting, working with volunteer committees, and building partnerships, especially within the non-profit sector.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, social media, video conferencing, and web-based platforms.
- Knowledge of and connections within the Métis and cultural communities in Saskatoon are considered assets.
This is a full-time position (approximately 35 hours per week) for seven months (September 2026-March 2027), with the possibility of renewal. The candidate must be able to work hours, when necessary, as most of the events we offer are held in the evenings and on weekends.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
