About the Position
Located in Alvinston, Ontario, Schotman Farms Ltd is a modern 2500 head sow farm and close to 1000 acres of crops. Over the past few years, they have grown as a farm both in their herd size as well as crops and plan to continue expanding in the next few years. They are looking for an energetic individual to join their team as a general labourer on the farm, to begin as soon as possible. The position will be full-time permanent, minimum of 35 hours per week up to 50 hours per week depending on the ongoing needs of the business. Work hours also available on weekends.
What can you expect from this role?
Working directly with the owners you will assist with general care for the animals, ensuring the cleanliness of the facility, maintaining biosecurity, and other elements of modern farming. We offer flexible work hours and opportunities for training and advancement.
How do you qualify for this role?
- Hard-working attitude
- Experience on a farm is an asset but not a requirement, willing to train
- Ability to work up to 6 days a week is an asset but not a requirement
- Ability to work in a physically demanding work area
- Comfortable in a range of temperatures
- Confident around animals
- Provide own transportation to and from work
