Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Host to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role requires strong communication skills and a passion for hospitality, as you will be responsible for managing guest seating, handling reservations, and assisting with various front-of-house tasks.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide them with an accurate wait time, if necessary.
- Manage the seating chart to optimize table turnover while ensuring guest comfort.
- Answer phone calls promptly, taking reservations and providing information about the restaurant's menu and services.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining area.
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
- Assist in training new hosts/hostesses on proper procedures and customer service standards.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Utilize POS systems, including Micros POS, to manage reservations and track guest preferences.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Strong guest service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Familiarity with food service operations and basic knowledge of menu items is advantageous.
- Proficient phone etiquette for handling calls effectively.
- A positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role.
