About You
You are a compassionate, detail-oriented nurse with a strong interest in dermatology. You bring excellent clinical skills, strong patient communication, and the ability to support dermatologists with medical and surgical procedures. You are comfortable with triage assessments, medication administration, delegated procedures, patient education, and accurate documentation while adhering to clinical protocols.
Job Overview
The RN/RPN will support medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services. This includes assisting with procedures, educating patients, documenting clinical encounters, and ensuring efficient clinic operations. You will work closely with dermatologists and clinical staff while using the EMR to maintain accurate and timely records.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care under dermatologist supervision, including wound care, medication administration, and patient education.
- Assist in and perform dermatologic procedures such as biopsies, cryotherapy, injections, and other delegated tasks.
- Educate patients on medication use, treatment plans, wound care, and preventive skincare.
- Monitor patient responses to treatments and document findings in the EMR.
- Follow-up on laboratory and pathology results as needed.
- Monitor treatment regimens, assist with evaluating patient responses, and communicate results to patients or physicians.
- Accurately document patient encounters, treatment details, and nursing observations.
- Ensure adherence to both clean and sterile technique, wound care protocols, and infection prevention practices.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid RN or RPN license in Ontario.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and medication administration.
- Familiarity with EMR platforms preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across medical, surgical, cosmetic, and research streams.
- Prior dermatology experience is an asset.
- Ability to manage medical office tasks efficiently and maintain detailed documentation.
- Comfort with high-frequency patient interactions and rapid transitions.
Pay: $32.00-$36.00 per hour
