About Tocha
Tocha is a Vancouver born company producing hot sauce without the heat. We make bold, balanced sauces designed for flavour instead of extreme spice.
About the role
As a Brand Ambassador, you’ll be the face of Tocha at sampling sessions across a designated region (Vancouver). You’ll chat with shoppers at retail stores, markets and events, to help them discover the right Tocha flavour for their tastebuds, and demystify our hot sauce without the heat.
Role Responsibilities
- Leading tasting demos (mainly in-stores with some market and event coverage too)
- Assembling and maintaining a clean, inviting setup in accordance with Tocha branding
- Educating customers on flavours, ingredients, allergens, pairings, and our brand story
- Encouraging sales in a friendly, non-pushy way
- Tracking samples and purchases, and reporting stock levels
- Managing demo materials and equipment (this includes a custom table, brand signage and pre-chilled sauces)
- Supporting the load in and out of materials and stock if supporting with markets and events (manual task with repeated heavy lifting)
- Sharing customer insights with the Tocha team
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with our store partners
What we’re looking for
A natural communicator who is approachable, friendly and enjoys connecting with others while representing our brand.
Someone reliable, organized, and proactive; you’ll need to come prepared to demos and engage with all potential customers.
Comfortable working solo at retail store demos
Comfortable working with a small team at markets and events
Sales or sampling experience is a bonus, though not essential. If you have other transferable experience suited to the role, let us know!
Requirements
- Able to stand comfortably for 4 - 6 hours
- Able to lift ~25kg
- Comfortable driving to stores across Vancouver (retail stores for this role are situated mainly Downtown, East Vancouver & North Shore)
- Comfortable driving to markets and events across Vancouver and Metro Vancouver as needed
- Hold a valid Canadian driver’s license with a clean driving record and access to a car
- Be available for weekend shifts (minimum 2 weekend dates per month)
Schedule & compensation
- This is a flexible role, offering between two and four demos per week
- Opportunity to increase shifts with additional demos seasonally (Summer / Winter)
- Travel stipend provided
Pay: $23.00 per hour
