Merova Hotel is an independent luxury boutique hotel in Richmond, BC, committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences through both our hotel operations and OVA Restaurant & Bar.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our Finance team. This position plays an important role in ensuring our vendors are paid accurately and on time while maintaining strong financial controls across both our hotel and restaurant operations.
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full accounts payable cycle while supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the business. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Process the full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt through payment.
- Review invoices for accuracy and ensure appropriate approvals have been obtained.
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation where applicable.
- Code invoices accurately to the appropriate general ledger accounts and departments.
- Enter invoices into the accounting system accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare weekly payment runs by cheque, EFT, or credit card.
- Monitor payment due dates to ensure timely vendor payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies.
- Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices and payments.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and payment information.
Accounting Support
- Assist with month-end accounts payable closing procedures.
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Reconcile corporate credit card transactions.
- Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal financial controls.
Administrative Support
- Monitor the shared finance email inbox and distribute invoices as required.
- Assist with employee expense reimbursements.
- Support the Finance team with administrative projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Accounts Payable experience.
- Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in the hospitality, hotel, or restaurant industry is considered a strong asset.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar accounting systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Pay: $52,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
