Position Description
This position is responsible for creating computer generated vinyl and/or full colour graphics for output that can be weeded, cut and applied or printed or mounted to a substrate. This may involve various levels of artistic creativity and will ultimately lead to the complete or modified design from customer drawings, branding packages, files or customer provided vector files for media output.
Position Responsibilities
1. Work closely with the team to establish daily priorities and efficiently and cost effectively schedule the workflow
2. Read and understand work orders. Follow up with the appropriate team member to clarify or obtain additional information as required.
3. Confirm best output method based on project requirements
4. Work with team and customers with file transfers, FTP access, photo library options, online proofs etc.
5. Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, select style and size of type and arrange layout based on available space, aesthetic design, and production requirements.
6. Prepare comprehensive illustrations, sketches, layouts and copy for print reproduction according to instructions on workorder, client or team member.
7. Allocate appropriate amount of time to each Work Order.
8. Review proofs and art files for accuracy before sending files to output. Ensure correct material is used for each job and output device settings are accurate.
9. Maintain customer logo library; covert graphic files.
10. Provide proofs as necessary for customer approval.
11. Perform daily/weekly computer back-ups; archive files as necessary
12. Maintain all equipment, including computers, plotters and printer(s)
13. Maintain accurate electronic record of File Storage in line with brand standards.
14. Minimize waste by efficiently using ink, media, laminates, substrates and vinyl; notify supervisors of low inventory.
15. Communicate with other team members as appropriate regarding job input and output and computer supply requirements.
16. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
17. Communicate with other team members on project timelines and be able to adapt to changes in workflow and priorities quickly to meet tight deadlines as required.

Skills & Education
1. College or University degree in Graphic Design
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of graphic design experience, ideally including signage design and knowledge of sign permit application process
3. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Illustrator. Experience in MS Word, Excel and G-Suite of products
4. Knowledge of sign substrates, sign construction, electrical and non-electrical
5. Mastery of verbal and written English language
6. Ability to multitask and work efficiently, both independently and as part of a team
7. Excellent communication skills
8. Attention to detail
9. Customer service and problem solving ability
9. Ability to sit for long periods
10. Ability to view computer screen for long periods
11. Ability to work under tight timelines when required to output high quality work
12. Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
13. Punctual and reliable and have strong work ethic; overtime may be required
