Rhome Property Management is seeking to hire an experienced live-in Building Caretaker or caretaking couple for a residential rental building on McClure Road near Old Riverside Park in Abbotsford, BC.
You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the common areas, leasing, building maintenance, suite repairs, move-in/move-out inspections, and administration.
Essential Job Duties

Maintain the cleanliness of all common areas, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, elevator cleaning, and garbage removal

Perform general building maintenance and minor repairs

Complete painting and handyman tasks as required
- Conduct regular inspections of common areas and building systems

Perform commercial cleaning duties to maintain building cleanliness and appearance

Coordinate and provide access to contractors and service providers

Conduct suite showings for prospective residents

Respond to resident inquiries and concerns in a professional manner

Maintain accurate records and communications via email and computer systems

Assist with move-in and move-out processes

Support the overall safety, security, and upkeep of the property

Maintain tenant relations; engage rental inquiries

Maintain written documentation and submit required paperwork by date requested
Requirements

Minimum one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Good knowledge of building maintenance and operations functions

Knowledge of the Rental Tenancy Act

Valid driver’s license and access to a car
- Understand written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

Organizational skills

Able to work without direct supervision

Work weekends as required

As an absolute condition of employment, employees are required upon hire to satisfactorily complete and pass a background check
Schedule

Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Flexibility required for occasional evenings and weekends to support:

Resident move-ins and move-outs

Salary, based on experience and number of buildings being managed ($45,000 - $50,000 per annum)

50% rent reduction on a 2-bedroom corner suite
