Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Montessori Guide to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about Montessori education, has a deep understanding of child development, and is committed to creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a Montessori classroom following authentic Montessori principles.
- Create and maintain a prepared environment that encourages independence, exploration, and learning.
- Guide children through the Montessori curriculum, fostering their individual growth and development.
- Observe and document each child’s progress, adapting lessons to meet their needs.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to support a collaborative learning community.
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Follow all licensing and regulatory requirements as outlined by Alberta childcare standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Montessori Certification (AMI or MACTE accredited).
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Montessori Guide in an early childhood setting.
- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Level 2, or 3 certification (or willingness to obtain if required).
- Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and child development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
