We are looking for an Environmental / Health & Safety Coordinator to support a fast-paced automotive or heavy manufacturing environment.
This role is responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, maintaining environmental compliance, supporting employee training, and ensuring workplace health and safety programs are effectively implemented.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily Health & Safety and Environmental programs
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and workplace injuries
- Assist with corrective and preventive action plans
- Maintain H&S and environmental records, reports, and documentation
- Coordinate employee safety training and orientations
- Support compliance with OHSA, WSIB, MOL/MECP and applicable regulations
- Assist with emergency response, evacuation, and preparedness programs
- Monitor PPE requirements and workplace safety practices
- Support environmental programs including waste management, spills, recycling, and hazardous materials
- Work with management and employees to identify and reduce workplace hazards
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety and environmental performance
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in Health & Safety, Environmental, EHS, or a related role
- Experience in automotive, manufacturing, steel, metal, heavy industrial, or similar environments
- Strong knowledge of Ontario OHSA and workplace safety requirements
- Experience conducting inspections, investigations, and risk assessments
- Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Excel
- Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams
- Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
Assets
- CRSP, CHSC, NCSO, or other H&S certification
- Environmental compliance experience
- Experience with ISO 14001 / ISO 45001
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Experience with WSIB claims and modified work programs
- Experience with audits, JHSC, and safety training
Pay: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
