Hansel & Gretel Bakery is under dynamic new ownership and entering an exciting phase of growth. We focus on modern, high-end cake design aesthetics and exceptional quality. We are looking for an efficient, precise, and artistic Custom Cake Decorator to join our production team.
Position Overview
We are moving away from traditional "clock-watching" and focusing heavily on efficiency and production output. In this role, you will work within structured, predictable shift blocks to take custom orders from "freezer to box." We highly reward decorators who can manage their time sharply, work fast, and maintain flawless execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Custom Cake Decoration: Efficiently handle the complete assembly of custom cakes—including leveling, filling, masking, and applying complex decorations (buttercream texturing, drips, clean piping, and fondant work).
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, and baked goods according to recipes and quality standards
- Ensure all baked items are visually appealing and meet customer specifications
- Daily Kitchen Prep: Complete essential baking, showcase items, and color-mixing during designated shift windows.
- Time Management: Consistently meet production target windows per cake size and complexity without compromising quality.
- Quality Control: Maintain an immaculate workstation and ensure every order perfectly matches the custom production specs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 2+ years of professional cake decorating experience in a commercial kitchen or bakery environment.
- Technical Skill: High proficiency in clean buttercream masking, sharp edges, modern textures, and precise hand made fondant work.
- Efficiency: A strong sense of urgency. You thrive in a structured, fast-paced environment and take pride in finishing beautiful work quickly.
- Tech Comfort: Comfortable using digital workplace apps (like Connecteam) for viewing schedules and tracking tasks.
